Help us bridge the circle of humanity
Descendants of Indigenous Peoples, immigrants, enslaved, and the colonizers- everyone on Turtle Island carries historical trauma resulting in ignorance of inconvenient truths, rejection of deep learning, and fractures in peace. We are doing what we can to reconnect humankind and heal the wounds that cause us to ignore that we are all in this existence together.
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect… Man, does not weave this web of life. He is merely a strand of it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”
Seattle, Suquamish, mid 1800’s.
Our Impact: We are doing our part to bring unity to the human circle, particularly when it comes to the Indigenous Peoples of America. The original caretakers of Turtle Island had already established forms of government, commerce, trade, and laws of peace when the forced colonization began. The colonizers adhered to a false belief in manifest destiny that eased their guilt over the egregious actions taken to claim land, resources, and the lives of our ancestors.
Saving the Circle is about representing history and present status of Indigenous communities so that generational trauma can continue to heal and all Peoples can learn to co-exist in harmony where possible. #bringingIndigenousback.
